Youssef Boubekeur

Observing the human and animal inside us. The works exhibited expose the relationship between man and animal, focusing on the personification of man as an animal. Using a blue pic pen, Boubekeur creates portraits of hyper-realistic hybrid figures that are indelible, precise, and spontaneous simultaneously.

His work invite introspection where the viewer observes the animal’s expression and recognizes the duality between instinctual animal and the more domesticated civilised human. Boubakeur gives the minotaur portraits through clothing and human accessories, meticulous elegance, aristocracy and power.
