Menashe Kadishman was an Israeli sculptor, painter, and graphic artist best known for his colorful paintings of sheep and large-scale metal sculptures. Kadishman’s youth as a shepherd at a kibbutz informed the sheep motif found throughout his work. Born in 1932 in Tel Aviv, Israel, he studied under Moshe Sternschuss at the Avni Institute of Art and Design in Tel Aviv before moving to London in 1959, Over the years he has had numerous exhibitions across the world in museums and leading international galleries.Â
